This past week we decided to take a different journey on learning about Kansas. Our classes talked about our state universities. Students began by learning about some major differences between a community college, state university, and private college. They had a lot of fun polling our facility to create a bar graph.

After students became familiar with the seven universites, they spent the rest of the week researching them. They had to find where they were in Kansas, and describe the city that they were in. They learned basic facts about why many people attend these universities. Many contacted the schools and spoke with people who told them first-hand, what made there college a great school. Other students went out and interviewed local teachers to gain insight. When the information was collected students created a photo collage that represented their school Students then used Thinglink to create an interactive picture telling key facts. They will get a chance to share and discuss their links using our social media sight, Edmodo.
