Students had so much fun creating these characters. Although they look messy, it was simply and fun. You will need water colors, or watered down tempera paints. 1 straw per student, read hearts, white paper, sharpie, dry erase board and marker.

First, I showed students step by step how to draw a face. We drew them on our dry erase board so that we could easily correct it when we messed up

When students had the perfect face they moved on to step two. We put our white piece of paper on top and traced in pencil. Students then traced in Sharpie.
When student were don they dabbed pain on the top of the paper and then used the straw to blow. This caused the paint to spread out and look like hair. Students used a variety of colors and techniques.
When done, they cut out and glued hearts. The results were amazing!
